Investors In People
As part of the strategic initiative to attract and retain talent, the business is aiming to achieve an Investors In People (IIP) accreditation in 2022.
Working towards gaining this accreditation will enable us to understand our performance at leading, supporting and improving our people in comparison with other companies in our industry. This will allow us to better position ourselves alongside our industry peers and will assist us in meeting our strategic initiative to attract and retain talent.
This also supports our ongoing project to action the feedback from the employee engagement survey, which you can see regular updates on in the “You Said, We Did” section on the Bridge.
What is IIP?
Investors in People is an external body offering an accreditation process based on their set framework to benchmark effectiveness of leadership and management practices within a company. Their focus is on leading, supporting and improving.
IIP will assess how our organisation is performing against their framework and following this assessment will advise and support with how we can put improvements in place which will ensure that we provide the best for our employees, the business and our customers.
Following the assessment, if the standard is met, we will gain an accreditation based on the IIP Performance Model of “Developed”, “Established” (Silver), “Advanced” (Gold) or “High Performing” (Platinum).
What to expect:
To ensure we get the most out of the IIP process, the assessment is very much employee led and your participation will be requested as follows:
Online Assessment: Much like a survey, the online assessment will be sent out to all employees with the aim of understanding your views (anonymously) which will be set against the IIP framework. This will begin w/c 25th April 2022 and will be available to complete for 2 weeks. A charitable donation of £5.00 per completed assessment will be made to our chosen charities.
Employee Interviews and Observations: Key themes emerging from the online assessment will be explored further with you via face to face meetings and observations. These will all be carried out by our IIP Assessor (Ciara) who will be on site in the Bristol office w/c 8th June 2022 for 2 weeks. During this time, she will also carry out virtual face to face meetings with a selection of employees from Newcastle and Gibraltar to ensure even representation.
Accreditation Report: Following the assessment, if the standard is met, we will gain an initial accreditation level and will be given time to make improvements with the aim of reaching a higher stage prior to the end of the year.
A final accreditation will be set at the end of the year and a yearly review will take place in 2023 and 2024 updating our accreditation level as necessary
