Outside work, I’m happiest playing golf, enjoying cars, and spending time with my family and friends (yes, all those things go together!). I love discovering new places and staying active. I’m curious by nature and enjoy learning, creating, and finding small ways to make each day better.

I’m the Group Chief Financial Officer and an Executive Director at Somerset Bridge Group Limited and its subsidiaries, and I also sit on the Boards of Southern Rock Holdings and Southern Rock Insurance Company.
 
My career spans senior financial and leadership roles across major insurance groups and global markets, including business unit leadership roles with Chubb, Aviva, Co-op, Saga and Arch.
 
Outside work, I enjoy travelling and volunteering for causes that matter to me. This includes my role as board trustee and chair for the finance committee at Aspens Charities, supporting people with autism and learning disabilities across London and the southeast.

I’m a business psychologist with over 15 years’ experience across automotive, financial and professional services. As Chief People Officer, I work across the full people experience, with particular focus on organisation design, development, business transformation and leadership development.

Outside work, I love being in nature. With my canine companion, I make the most of the mountain and coastal paths nearby. I’m also a keen traveller, combining trips with my passion for scuba diving and marine conservation in destinations like Egypt, Thailand and French Polynesia.

An eternal optimist, I’m energised by today’s changing work landscape and excited to learn, grow and explore the diverse range of opportunities both technology and global communities bring.

With over 25 years in financial services, I’ve partnered with major brands to build and transform technology functions that deliver meaningful business outcomes.

Alongside my executive roles, I’m a non‑executive director for a tech start‑up and an advisory board member for Dynamo North East, supporting the growth of the regional tech sector.

Based in the North East, I live with my very active family and can usually be found poolside or on the football touchline, or in the dojo, continuing to develop my karate as a 2nd Dan.

I’m a collaborative, curious leader who enjoys learning and working with diverse teams to create well-rounded sustainable solutions.

As an underwriter, I live where math, logic, and data collide with the unpredictable nuances of the real world. I’m passionate about using technology and analytics to cut through the noise, challenge the status quo, and build smarter solutions.

Outside of work you'll typically find me in my workshop, doing hobby metalwork, tinkering with tools and equipment, and "fixing" my 30 year-old Land Rover Defender. I also enjoy learning new things across science, technology and history and exploring places near and far. I often take the scenic route and the adventure that brings.

I value clear data and straightforward conversations, though I'll always make an exception for a good story about taking the long way around.

With 32 years of insurance experience, my enthusiasm and passion for delivering great outcomes for customers remain as strong as ever. I’m fortunate to work alongside colleagues who share this vision and bring the knowledge, energy, and commitment needed to build solutions that give customers real peace of mind.

Outside of work, I spend as much time outdoors as possible — usually with the family, and occasionally out on the cricket pitch. I enjoy following most sports, while forlornly waiting for Coventry City to return to the Premier League or for Somerset to finally win the County Championship… maybe this year.

I thrive on the challenge and variety of the role. It pushes me to think differently, support my teams, and keep raising the bar for the outcomes we deliver.

A strategic leader with over 35 years’ experience, I focus on operational excellence, customer centricity and empowering people to deliver their best. I’m committed to shaping and supporting the next generation of leaders, ensuring we continually raise the bar on performance, innovation and culture.

Outside work, I value time with my family and friends and enjoy exploring the beautiful Northumberland coastline with my dog. I’m happiest outdoors, taking in the landscape, recharging, and finding fresh perspective that helps me stay grounded, energised and ready for the challenges ahead.

I bring a blend of technical innovation, ownership and a drive to excel—always focused on making a positive, lasting difference.

My background is in compliance and risk across a range of financial services organisations, where I’ve worked as a consultant, technical lead and team manager. I focus on applying practical risk management and proportionate compliance approaches to enable safe, sustainable organisational growth.

Outside work, I love travelling and exploring new cities and cultures. Closer to home, I spend my time walking and volunteering at local motorsport events—an interest that combines community, teamwork and a bit of adrenaline.

I enjoy adapting to a continually changing industry, finding new solutions to the challenges this brings and supporting my teams to grow their careers.

With over 48 years in the insurance industry, I’ve worked for Insurers such as Allianz, Ageas and Markerstudy, Lloyds Underwriters Brockbank and Brokers Marsh and Brightside. My role as Non-Exec Chair is to provide oversight and governance across the company but also to support the ExCo wherever possible. 

Now I’m firmly in the Non-Exec and Consulting world I have lots more time for golf and holidays often combining the two. I’m a follower of Southampton FC and Hampshire Cricket and love daily walks with my dog. 

I’ve been involved with Somerset Bridge for 7 years now and have overseen the move from being an entrepreneur owned small business to the much larger corporate entity it now is, and I’ve enjoyed every part of the journey.  

I have more than 25 years’ experience in the financial services sector, leading risk management, internal audit, compliance and corporate governance teams in both the UK and US. I’ve served on the SBISL Board since 2020 and am a Chartered IIA member, Certified Fraud Examiner and former FTSE 100 Company Secretary.

Outside of work, I love cooking, travelling and spending time with friends and family. I’ve been a passionate Formula 1 fan for over three decades, and more recently I’ve become an enthusiastic golf spectator and may even venture into trying to play too.

I support SBISL through my natural curiosity, integrity and independence, as well as my business and financial acumen.

As an independent non-executive board member with 35+ years in general insurance as executive, advisor, and actuary, I bring international leadership experience, strong governance awareness, and a practical, data-driven perspective, with a consistent focus on sound decision-making, transparency, and customer outcomes. 

Outside work, I enjoy learning, teaching, and working with people from very different backgrounds. I value curiosity, humour, and thoughtful conversation, and I’m energised by environments where diverse perspectives are encouraged and complex ideas are made accessible and useful. 

I enjoy working closely with Somerset Bridge, using my experience to support good decisions, do the right things, and enable sustainable success. 

I’m President of Arch Reinsurance Ltd. in Bermuda. 
I oversee the company’s reinsurance strategy and underwriting portfolio, working closely with teams, brokers, and clients to drive disciplined growth and long-term performance across global reinsurance markets.

Away from work, I enjoy time with my family and being on the water. Living in Bermuda, I appreciate boating and exploring the island’s coastline and believe time on the ocean offers perspective and balance.

I value strong relationships, disciplined decision-making, and building resilient businesses that support clients, colleagues, and communities over the long term.

I have served as CEO of Arch Re Europe since September 2014, originally joining the business in April 2012 leading the Credit & Surety team. From 1996 to 2009, I’ve held a variety of senior underwriting positions at Swiss Re in Zurich and London both in Credit & Surety and corporate insurance. I’ve also served in several underwriting positions at AIG between 1992 and 1996 in New York, Paris, and Frankfurt in corporate risk financing.

I live in Switzerland with my family of four and am currently experiencing my first days of being an empty nester. On weekends I spend time in the mountains skiing or mountain biking. In-between all of this I cultivate a little vineyard and produce my own wine. 

I’m an experienced Non-Executive Director of several financially regulated organisations, with deep expertise in cybersecurity, data protection, AI governance and operational resilience, complemented by practical digital transformation experience and a proven ability to bridge technical detail and board decision-making.

Outside the boardroom, I live in Guernsey and enjoy a busy life combining work, family, community roles and a menagerie of animals. I have a practical, curious mindset, enjoy simplifying complex problems, and value time outdoors, good conversations and building things that genuinely make a difference.
